Cody Gaston and his wife, Courtney have been passionately involved in leading worship together at Grace Point for two years. Cody plays the guitar, bass, keyboard, percussion and sings. Courtney sings and plays the drum box. Their passion for leading worship has not only brought them closer together as a couple but has also brought them closer to God.
Cody began playing drums when he was in elementary school. In middle school, he began to play the guitar and has since been very dedicated to studying music. He attended West Liberty University to get his bachelor of music degree and also attended The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio where he learned to build a recording studio. This led him to create his own computer for optimal recording use. Cody also teaches voice and guitar lessons to students of various ages and ability.
Courtney comes from a musically talented family and says “music has been a very big part of her life and it has always been a way for her family to bond and worship the Lord together”. Courtney began at Grace Point in the children’s ministry and was very happy to direct a successful Christmas play. She was also involved with volunteering in the KidsPoint ministry at GP. When Courtney is not belting out beautiful music at GP, she is teaching special needs children at the middle-school level.
Cody and Courtney have attended the Youth Retreats and say “it was a blessing not only to be able to lead the teens in worship, but also to be able to witness, encourage, listen, and just have fun with them in the name of Christ”.
It is a blessing to Grace Point that they use the beautiful gift of music that God gave them to serve and glorify Him.
